Be Brave If dive looking restaurants frighten you, don't consider this place. But, if you love good authentic Mexican food, then go. We have a passion for molcajete, something we had not found since moving from a Chicago suburb (of all places), but this place exceeded our expectations for our favorite dish. hidden gem If you want true and authentic mexican food go to La barquita. Try their specialties and their margarita's. Ask for Jose the owner he is a great guy. Very down home and casual .

Not from the area We were looking for a place to eat & we spotted this. It may have true authentic food but the bars along the windows & unwelcome interior made it for an uncomfortable feel.
