Honest to goodness good food with a different slant on the menu - savory crepes are all excellent (tried the mushroom spinach and cheese and ham/cheese) as were the sandwiches. Larger lunch items include pasta. Their onion soup deserves special mention - this is my “go to” item to see how good the kitchen is, and this one passed with flying colors - a rich broth seasoned with thyme, not too much salt, plenty of onions, and a good chunk of bread with a great non-plasticky cheese. This is such a welcome addition to the La Mesa Village! Perfect for re-living your trip to Southern France last summer. The food is above average to great, depending on the dish. All the seafood I have tried was fresh and not fishy at all. Highlights for me are the ribeye steak with fries (French style of course) and the potatoes simmered in a spicy sauce. I appreciate the attentiveness and service. This review is only for the entree I ordered: calamares rellenos out of curiosity. The presentation looked good however, portion was quite small for the price. The flavor was good, the squid was stuffed with rice and sun dried tomatoes. I did not see or taste any ham nor octopus inside as described on menu.

This new little place is nestled in the heart of La Mesa, and offers a delicious selection of food, wine and beer. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was nice and comfortable. It’s a small restaurant that is perfect for date night or to enjoy with friends (like we did). We ordered the calamari, patatas bravas, pulpo con chistorra, and I would order all 3 again. Such a great spot whether it’s for a family dinner, catching up with friends, or on a romantic date. The decor is adorable and gives it such a cozy feel. The prices are very reasonable. We tried many items from the menu. They were all delicious and the wine was also fantastic. Our favorite dishes were the bruschetta and mussels. The crepes Suzette and chocolate mousse were also delicious. The service was outstanding. We will definitely be going back!
