The food was delicious. We had reservations at 4pm and beat the dinner crowd.
There are a few good points towards the end of this post but let's start with the beginning....my first warning that something wasn't right was the 5 minute wait at the host stand to confirm our reservation and get seated. No one was around. My next warning was the restaurant was empty on a Saturday at 7pm which should have been a flag. After ordering a strip steak with sides, the steak that was delivered was a Ribeye. My wife and I had a fantastic meal. The coconut shrimp and corn chowder were excellent. The entree of 8oz filet was cooked perfectly and the creamed spinach was the perfect side. My wife had the Chilean seas bass and lived it. Our waitress was excellent. Great meal!
I had a very disappointing experience at Rio Chama. Our server was nowhere to be found for most of our meal, and for the prices this restaurant charges, I expected much better service. At one point, I had to ask a food runner for water because our server was too busy watching the football game instead of checking on their tables. For such high reviews, the food just doesn t match up. We had the burger..it was ok, nothing special. But the prime rib sandwich...hmmmm I envision a thinly sliced med rare beef on a baguette. I get a well done, tough beef on a half a piece of toast. Not good. Highly over rated
