Maria's has been at this location for 52 yrs and if you're into vintage charm, this fits the bill. Perhaps a little dark in some areas, but not out of place. I went early on a weekday night so the parking was plentiful and the service fast and friendly. I could here the staff laughing and talking in the kitchen before it got busy - but this tells me the environment is more like family than just workers. The carne Adovada was very good and the red chili sauce was thick and gravy-like. I could eat than on anything. 😊
The service was mediocre at best. We visiting from Texas and did not feel the love at all! Food came out so fast there’s no way it was fresh. Certainly did not taste freshly made. Do not recommend going here. Way too many other places to choose from. Restaurant is however a very cool place. But they didn’t have any music playing at all and was not lively. Maria's has been my family's home away from home for our annual Santa Fe Christmas vacation. Although we're sad that they don't have the margarita book to order off of anymore, Gerardo, Victor, Manny and Omar make the best margarita in town hands down. Chris has been a wonderful manager and always provided us a warm welcome as well. My only suggestion is to bring back Cointreau & the margarita book but that's not going to stop us from coming here.
Was a great comfortable night on this new year. We enjoyed the cuisine and atmosphere. Thank you for the delicious experience!
We had a group of 9 and they sat us quickly. I had Carne Avavoda and it was tasty. The flour tortilla is the size of a hubcab and homemade. The tamales are homemade as well. I would come back.
