First time trying Jamaican food and it was so good. I had the jerk chicken with rice and beans, plantains and cabbage. The rice and beans reminds me of a Ghanaian rice dish called Waakye. It reminded me of home. It was warm and flavorful. I loved the cabbage as it had some spice to it. The plantain was fried to perfection. The jerk chicken fell off the bone however I did find it a little bit salty. I would definitely come back again. It seems the Caribbean and West African food have a lot in common.
I stepped through the door and felt an almost unreal level of welcome. The warmth is instant plus it is not routine courtesy - it is sincere concern for the guest. Employees behave like relatives who have waited for you - they ask how you are, suggest dishes and confirm that each detail is right but they never hover. Great customer service!!! Consistently great food! I’ve been a few times and each time the food has been great and on point!! Tender ox tails and delicious jerk chicken. You won’t be disappointed 😉
Food is Fantastic! Portions are excellent. Went in for lunch got the Jerk Chix, patty, cabbage, rice & beans. Tastes like Aunts food! Coming back for the oxtail. So glad this place is down the street from the house will be back weekly!
My family was in the area and wanted something different for dinner. We found this place in the Junction Food and Drink and were not disappointed. We ordered the jerk chicken entree with cabbage, Rasta pasta and corn on the cob as our sides. The chicken literally fell off the bone! I have not experienced that in years.
