I was so relieved to find a dog trainer here in Denver that uses positive reinforcement and fear free and prong collar free training techniques. Overtime our two year old dog developed food aggression issues with both us and our other dog, add that to his being a chronic counter surfer and you have the perfect storm. John worked with us over a period of time to help curb these behavioral concerns. We did our homework and saw results! We are so grateful to have found John’s Dog Magic - we have our sweet pup back.
John was a major help with our boy, Mack. We’ve had Mack for 6 years but noticed his resource guarding and protectiveness started to increase. John did a great job helping us better understand his personality, how to better work with him, improved his resource guarding at his age, and gave us great tips for overall dog care.
I worked with John over the summer after adopting my dog Ophie. He was amazing to work with. He works with you to set realistic goals and provides great feedback on commands and techniques that I still continue to use every day. I would definitely work with him again when needed and highly recommend for anyone in Denver.
You *can* teach an old dog new tricks. After our two 50+ pound girls got into a bad tussle in November, we needed help to re-establish boundaries and some training etiquette. John’s in-home training, great tips (the front clip harnesses have done wonders for our Iditarod hopefuls), and the positive reinforcement (for both owners and pups) has helped make training fun and productive. The girls are minding, listening, and most importantly, getting along again.
Super grateful a friend recommended John to us! He is reliable and taught us so much about training our puppy. We did board and train with him which was worth every penny. We will board our dog with him again in the future.
