Lady was extremely helpful and very informed about the area and what was going on. Annual bigfoot conference. So much fun.
Clean public bathrooms available. Walkable area. Many good food options nearby. Museum and bed-and-breakfast(s) in the area. General Store is a must-see as well.
The Visitor Center is not the reason to visit Jefferson. It is the town itself. The town has a long history, beautifull and sometimes haunted homes, buildings and hotels, and more events throughout the year than most towns. There are many B&B's to enjoy and several RV parks, state parks and CCC campgrounds around Lake O the Pines to set up in. Excellent. Extremely knowledgeable lady gave me a quick but very useful overview of the town and things to see and do.
Has the feel of a small town you'd see in Hallmark Christmas movie. Good community.
