We were with Dane County Credit Union for years and loved it. When they switched to Heartland, we were concerned. Luckily, we've had zero issues with anything at Heartland. Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable.

I have been a member unfortunately for the last 3 years due to an auto loan. After the auto loan was set up ,I opened up a checking and savings account. After paying on this auto loan and NEVER missing a payment for the last 3 years, I was placed on SSDI. When my car payment became more than I could afford on my SSDI monthly, I reached out to try for a lower payment. They wanted to lower it by only $20!! What in the heck is $20 going to do for me?? I have been with Heartland for 7 years after moving all of my accounts from a large bank. I understood the credit union difference immediately after opening my accounts. Great customer service and online banking app is top tier!

We recently moved our checking and savings from a local BMO to a local Heartland. While the local office is great, anytime you have to talk to anyone connected to the 800 number or the chat feature.... beware; you will get some really rude people. An error by my car loan bank caused an overdraft in my checking. I got charged a $5 fee for overdraft protection (transferring money from one Heartland account to another). When I signed up for the overdraft protection, I was under the impression it was a free service. I was wrong.... read more
