I’m a hand building member & can’t recommend it enough. Clayoss is an awesome community to be part of. Everyone is so welcoming, creative, funny, & helpful. I’ve been playing with clay for about a year inconsistently & I’ve grown a lot thanks to everyone here (Laura, Lauren, Jason, Rachel - honorable mentions 🤘) If you’re looking to try a new hobby or in search of a new studio Clayoss is the move (pinkie swear). We’ve never tried clay spinning before but had a blast at the Go for a Spin class. The instructor was clear, encouraging and very helpful. Lots of fun glazes to choose from, and the owner Jason is an absolute Gem. Would highly recommend this studio, community there is very welcoming and the vibes are immaculate.
Clayoss has such an incredible atmosphere! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming — the staff and the members. I took a class with Rach, who was a patient and encouraging teacher. I got 8 pieces total out of the 4 week class + glazing time. Overall, I had a really great experience at Clayoss!
If you are looking for a pottery membership look no further. This place is warm, inviting, and supportive. They focus on community building and treating their members with kindness and compassion. I had a horrible experience at another studio in the city and really questioned whether I would even be able to find a place that I felt safe and welcome. Jason and Laura welcomed me with open arms. Took the month-long intermediate queer wheel class. I really liked the format - we got three weeks of throwing in, the first two classes we had a specific object everyone in the class was trying to make but there was still time at the end to throw one or two other pieces. We came back on our own time to glaze, which is different than other classes I've taken but appreciated because then we got more wheel time in.
