Stopped in to order to go food, it just happened to be Happy Hour. They have $5 well drinks and specials for food, greeted right away and seated at the bar. They have daily soups with all kinds of different toppings that you can add on. The packaging for their To-Go’s are packaged very well. Generous portions. I was excited to visit because I enjoy their one downtown. The food and the service are good, the place is usually busy and still get service in a timely manner. The prices for cocktails are average for a bar restaurant but the flavors are above average in my opinion. The only things I didn't like about it is how small the parking is, and how dated the place seems inside, with old booths and table from the previous restaurant old Chicago. They did opened up the place and added a lo more seating space but kept the old stuff.
The food is good but I was expecting more. I've heard about this place for a long time. I liked but didn't love it. I had the cry baby burger and tater tots and both were ok but honestly a little bland. I've never had to add salt to tots before but did here. I know a lot of restaurants do this now but charging extra for a side with your burger isn't right and leaves a bad taste.
Ok, I REALLY wanted to love this place. I have heard great things about other locations and wanted to give this place a fair shot. Came in on Saturday evening with my wife... party of 2. We did the online wait-list and when we showed up, we were able to be seated immediately (even with a crowd of people waiting outside). We were sat down promptly out in the covered patio.
